We are a volunteer organization that depends on memberships and donations to fund our projects. GNPS events are free and open to the public; we welcome all levels of plant enthusiasts.
• Monthly programs begin in October and end in April. Programs feature information about the beauty, identification, uses, and habitats of native plants, pollinators… and much more.
• Field Trips throughout the growing season (spring-fall), to experience native plants in their natural habitats.
• Native Plant Sale: Our sale takes place during the monsoon season, the ideal time to plant!
• Educational Experiences for kids in cooperation with local schools
• Advocacy for the protection of rare and endangered plants and their habitats.
• Silva Creek Botanical Garden is our beautiful demonstration garden and outdoor classroom on Virginia and State Streets in Silver City.
As a chapter of the Native Plant Society of New Mexico, Gila Native Plant Society is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, and donations are tax-deductible in accordance with section 170 of the IRS tax code.
