Botanical Garden
We regularly schedule garden work parties.
● Watering crew: volunteer to water a section of the garden for part of the year. We water every week during the summer and less frequently during other seasons.
● Update a list of plants in the garden.
Bulletin
Assistant Editor: Learning how to put together our quarterly newsletter as a backup for our editor.
Education Committee
● Chair: Organize activities for kids at events such as those listed below under Events.
● Volunteer to lead an activity for kids in the botanical garden.
● Help at any event for two hours.
If you don’t have experience, training is available.
Events Committee
● Coordinator: This entails alerting the treasurer to pay for space at an event, letting the Education Committee know so they can plan activities, and scheduling volunteers to be at our tables. This person doesn’t need to be at the event themselves. We participate in events like Give Grandly, Continental Divide Trail Days, the Mimbres Hummingbird Festival, and the Tamal Fiesta.
● Set Up and Take Down Backup: Jim Blurton currently does this, and it would be great to have some backup for him. It includes transporting and helping with the setup and take-down of tables, chairs, canopies, and materials.
● Special Events Organizer(s). This is an opportunity to create our own events, such as a Kids' Day in the botanical garden, a Brown Bag lunch social, or an idea of your own.
● Contributors: People willing to send in a photo with a description (an interesting plant seen on a hike, our volunteers at work, a fun fact about a plant, an event that might be of interest, etc.)
Field Trips
● Czar/Czarina: Schedule and help lead field trips.
● Trip leaders: Volunteer to lead a field trip or host a landscaping tour of your yard.
Annual Plant Sale
● Organizer: It involves reserving Gough Park, coordinating with vendors, and scheduling volunteers to put up posters and assist during the sale. Our previous organizer did a fantastic job, and is willing to mentor whoever assumes the position.
● Helpers: Volunteer for two hours to steward, set up and take down the day of the sale.
Programs
● Zoom Tech: Setting up and monitoring Zoom during our programs (typically once per month, October through April).
● Refreshments: Bringing refreshments to a monthly program. We need a volunteer for each month when a program is planned.
● Committee member: Help the committee chair identify and coordinate with potential speakers.

And more!
Visitors Center
● Keeping our Silva Creek Botanical Garden leaflet and Woody Riparian Plants brochures stocked at the VC.
