Grants from the Gila Native Plant Society are available to organizations and individuals in the Southwest New Mexico area. The purpose of the grant must align with the Mission Statement of the Society.

Mission Statement: The purpose of the organization is 1) to promote education, research and appreciation of the native flora of the Southwest; 2) encourage the preservation of rare and endangered plant species and the
communities in which these species occur; 3) encourage the use of suitable native plants in landscaping in order to preserve New Mexico’s unique character and at the same time conserve water.

Generally, amounts are limited to $500.

Grant requests are reviewed twice a year with due dates of March 1, and October 1. The applicant will be notified of the outcome of the grant review by April 1, or November 1.

The GNPS President will appoint a committee to review applications and bring recommendations before the Board.

Questions regarding the filing may be addressed to GNPS President. Requests for funds which are not grants, such as sponsorships, shall be reviewed at regular quarterly Board meetings.
